GBFHT awarded additional funding for another Telemedicine MachineThe MOH started an initiative to provide sites with equipment that require more Telemedicine resources to support mental health patients. The system fees and OTN fee for a new system are covered by the MOH. Katrine McCarl (Nurse Coordinator for OTN) applied for this funding and was approved for a second telemedicine machine, which will be arriving in November/December. This will allow us to schedule more than one patient over OTN at a time, reducing wait times, and allowing for more education events. Way to go Katrine!! C Difficile UpdateIn light of the recent outbreaks a presentation was organized by Dr. Mark Quigg, RN Katrine McCarl and OTN staff and broadcast over telemedicine to reach the entire province. Dr. Susy Hota, an Infectious Disease Specialist at UHN - and an excellent speaker - made the presentation very interesting. Please follow the link below to view the session, it is about 1 hour in length. http://mediasite.otn.ca/mediasite41/Viewer/?peid=1d8906fbfaac45b1b82476d14a360b0b1d Kid's Summer Camps with the FHTThe child and youth counselling team here at the FHT have been busy putting together week long programs for kids and teens.
